Are you ready for billion-dollar Brisbane?
Brisbane is experiencing its most transformative decade ever. The monumental changes about to take place will see our city transform more in the next five years than it has in the past five decades.
Although Sydney and Melbourne will maintain their status as Australia’s major cities, Brisbane will emerge from their shadow with these 5 game-changing developments.
The Queens Wharf Brisbane precinct is predicted to be one of the biggest transformations in the city’s history. Although it won’t be completed for another five years, construction has begun and will change the face of Brisbane for ever. Not only is the work creating 8000 jobs, the multibillion-dollar project will meet the increased demand for inner-city living.
Once work on the precinct is completed in 2022, Queens Wharf will offer a public space the size of 12 football fields, five new hotels – including the Ritz Carlton and a Star Casino – 50 bars, restaurants and cafes, a luxury retail department store and an entertainment facility complete with Skydeck platform.
Brisbane is about to get its very own slice of New York. On a site with close ties to the city’s naval history – and currently home to a self-storage facility – the $50 million luxury residential project TriBeCa Terraces will bring 53 multilevel terrace houses on to the market. The site, currently occupied by a self-storage facility, housed a naval warehouse during World War II and was later used to store downed military aircraft recovered from the battlefield by Allied forces.
